Telugu actor Nani, who is basking in the success of his recent movie Eega, has got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Anjana at a private ceremony in Vizag on Sunday, August 12. Now, he is set for a grand wedding. The budding star has revealed that he would tie the knot with his girlfriend in November.

Talking to leading English newspaper, Nani confirmed that he has exchanged rings with Anjana in a simple ceremony in Vizag and their family members were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, the actor added that their marriage is likely to take place in November and he would announce the wedding date in a couple of days.

It was reported recently that the Eega star had met Anjana through Facebook. Nani, who was deeply disturbed by the news, had earlier slammed rumours. Talking about it, the actor said that they both met through a common friend five years ago in Vizag when he was a RJ and was not introduced to the film industry. Their friendship turned into love and now they are very excited about their marriage.

However, Nani is busy with several new offers. He has one movie each with Samudrakhani, Krishna Vamsi and Gautham Menon. He is currently shooting for Samudrakhani’s upcoming Telugu film. According to report, they left for Goa to shoot for the film soon after his engagement ceremony.

Review

Story Narasimha Naidu (Prabhu) and Saraswati (Seeta) are siblings. Saraswati marries a Muslim Basha (Suman) without informing her brother. Narasimha Naidu amputates Basha in rage. Since then Narasimha Naidu’s family and Basha families become enemies. Suleman (Vishnu Manchu) is the son of Basha and Saraswati. Narasimha Naidu seeks for a good priest to do a chandi yagam. In a case of mistaken identity Suleman gets an opportunity to head the priests with a borrowed name Krishna Sastri. The rest of the story is all about how Suleman brings two families together. Artists Performance Vishnu Manchu: Vishnu Manchu looks very stylish in suits during songs. He has donned two roles of Suleman and Krishna Sastri. He does justice in portraying two roles in an interesting way. His diction as a Brahmin priest is good. He gave his best movements in the songs of Denikaina Ready especially in the stylishly shot title song. Others: Hansika Motwani is pretty good. She has put on some weight, but her warm smile and uninhibited exposing adds to her role. Brahmanandam plays the role of Bangarraju who has a caste feeling. It’s because of Bangarraju, the whole drama takes place. He is pretty entertaining. Among the pack of Hindu priests, Bharat has another entertaining character. Vennela Kishore has done the role of a sidekick David who also dons another priest role. Surekha Vani does the role of AVS’s wife who always see her husband on other men. Seeta and Pragati are good as mothers. Prabhu and Suman are alright. Kota does the role of a villain. Technical department Story - screenplay - direction: The basic plot of a film is given by BVS Ravi and it revolves around a Muslim guy portraying the role of a Hindu priest to achieve his goal of uniting two warring families. The story is given maximum importance to entertainment and ample scope for sentiment. G Nageswara Reddy whose main forte has been comedy has succeeded in getting good laughs in vital scenes. Screenplay of the film gets interesting in the middle of the film as 80% of the film has hero doing two roles and a few people trying to expose/protect him. Other departments: Songs scored by Chakri and Yuvan Shankar Raja are nice. My personal favorites are title song and keka keka song. Background music by Chinna is fine. Cinematography is alright. Dialogues by Marudhuri Raja are appropriate. He has worked in a big film after a long gap. Editing is fine. Choreography in the film deserves a mention (especially Prem Rakshit). There are a couple of fights and are well choreographed. It is nice to see that producer has shown the photos of all technicians are shown during their respective title card. Analysis Denikaina Ready is a comedy film with an underlying sentiment. Interval twist is interesting. The director has succeeded in creating a typical Priyadarshan type of satire of mistaken identities. The plus points of the film film are Vishnu - Brahmanandam and comedy. On the flip side, the story depends on the cliched aspect of Rayalaseema kind of faction wars. On a whole, Denikaina Ready has enough ingredients to work at box office.

Cameraman Ganga (Tamanna) works as a cameraman for a TV channel and she notices Rambabu’s intensity and recommends him as a reporter to her TV channel. Rambabu joins as a reporter and starts cracking whip on the opposition leader (Kota) and his son (Prakash Raj). It becomes a war between Rambabu and opposition’s CM candidate (Prakash Raj). The rest of the story is all about how Rambabu exposes CM candidate. Artists Performance Pawan Kalyan: Pawan Kalyan is known as a guy who responds to atrocities happening around him. His character in this film is an identifiable to Pawan Kalyan at a personal level. One can see superb intensity when Pawan talks about social responsibility and the injustice around us. There is energy and magnetism flowing all the intense scenes. Pawan Kalyan has given extraordinary performance. However, he has put on a bit of weight compared to Gabbar Singh time. Others: Tamanna has done a tom-boyish role. She is okay. Gabriela who has done the second heroine role is not effective. It’s a cake walk for both Kota Srinivasa Rao and Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj entertains again with his minute expressions combined with smart comic timing (example is interval fight). Ali and Brahmanandam characters are used to show how Indian TV channels spice up a normal happening into a comically emotional issue. MS Narayana is very good in the role of Pawan Kalyan’s adopted uncle. Technical department Story - screenplay - direction: Puri Jagan has gone away from a regular masala films a couple of years back and is concentrating on issue based films. The story of the film is about the anger of a common-man against the political system. He has also shown how TV channels manipulate and doctor the news in such a way that it becomes more of an entertainment program than a a proper news-reading. I remember Puri Jagan creating satires on TV media for the first time with Asha Saini character in 143 film. Now he has made a full-length movie and provided satires on TV media without hurting them. Puri Jagan’s strength has always been the characterization and dialogues. If he gets performers who own these characters and take it further, it helps the commercial result of the movie. Pawan Kalyan is one such rare actor in Telugu cinema who behaves like a wounded tiger for such characters and creates empathy from audiences. Direction is good in intense scenes. Other departments: Dialogues by Puri Jagan is a huge asset. There is no vulgarity in dialogue and they are intense/entertaining and deeply philosophical at times. Background music by Mani Sharma is good. But we expect better songs from a man of his calibre. My favorites are melikal followed by extraordinary from the picturization point of view. Cinematography is Sam K Naidu is good. Editing by new guy SR Sekhar is nice. Fights composed by Vijay are power-packed. Art direction by Chinna is appropriate. Analysis First half of the film is alright. The second half is explosive. It’s a completely clean film from Puri Jagan. There are four best scenes in the film (1. Pawan Kalyan - Prakash Raj confrontation which waters down the entire movement 2. Philosophy of how men make ordinary women extraordinary 3. News room scene where Brahmi makes masala out of straight news items. 4. Pawan Kalyan’s call to people in the pre-climax episode) do stand out. Strengths of the film are Pawan Kalyan’s explosive performance and Puri Jagan’s superb characterization/dialogues. On the flip side, the holistic approach and strong villain characterization is missing in the film. There is enough fire power in the movie to make it commercially work. You may watch it for the Puri Jagan’s version of angry young man Pawan Kalyan.

From Bollywood and South celebrities to politicians and bureaucrats, everyone was in full attendance at a bash to ring in megastar Amitabh Bachchan's 70th birthday.

The party organised by Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan saw a host of well known personalities, dressed in their best, turning out at Reliance Media works in film city in Goregaon.

Bachchan was dressed in a knee-length black velvet kurta. Son Abhishek Bachchan walked holding wife Aishwarya's hand and mother Jaya on his other side. Daughter Shweta Nanda with husband and her children were also seen.

The Big B waved at the media, posed for shutterbugs and thanked everyone.

Son Abhishek said, "It is glamorous 70 and we all are really happy to be here celebrating his birthday with family, friends and everyone."

Daughter-in-law Aishwarya added, "We all are really happy that everyone have come today to celebrate his birthday. We are thankful to everyone for their presence."

When veteran actor Dilip Kumar came with wife Saira Bano, Abhishek and Aishwarya touched their feets to seek blessings.

Celebrities like Karan Johar and mother Hiroo, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani's mother Kokilaben, late actor Shammi Kapoor's wife and son Aditya Raj Kapoor and others arrived to the main gate in a golf cart-like vehicle. Shashi Kapoor came on a wheel chair.

Till 11.45 pm none of the Khans arrived.

It is on Thursday that megastar Amitabh Bachchan, would be turning 70. It happens to be Bachchan's first birthday with grand daughter Aaradhya. The cake cutting was suppose to happen after 12 midnight on Wednesday.

"We are like a family. I love Amitji. We share fond memories as we did 'Kaante' together. He is a wonderful actor and a very good human being," Sanjay Dutt said.

Actor Anil Kapoor called him the "hugest" star.

"He played a terrific innings. And I wish him luck and happiness. He is an iconic figure," Shabana Azmi said.

Said Bipasha Basu, "Not even actors of 30 years of age can match his energy. He is active, he is energetic, full of life. I wish him happiness."

Vidya Balan felt Big B is not only an inspiration for actors but everyone.

South's superstar Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi with son Ram Charan Teja, Nagarjuna, Rana Dagubbati and others also came.

"I am too small to talk about him. I wish him all the happiness," Ram Charan Teja said.

The party began from 8 pm onwards, the entrance area had black curtains all over and live music being played in band baaja style on Bachchan's all popular songs like 'Pardesiya', 'Main Hoon Don', 'Muqadar Ka Sikander' and other hit songs.

Sri Devi's English-Vinglish Review's

Director Gauri Shinde's latest Hindi movie English Vinglish starring Sridevi in lead, is a story of a housewife and her quest to learn English. The movie has received rave reviews from film critics. English Vinglish is a must watch. It's a compete family entertainer. It has some excellent performances, especially Sridevi's! When compared to Madhuri Dixit (Aaja Nachle) and Karisma Kapoor's comeback (Dangerous Ishhq), Sridevi definitely has the best comeback in Bollywood with a beautiful story and strong role. One of the best movies of the year English Vinglish deserves a Hats Off!

This movie is a lesson for married couples, children, families and even friends. Shinde has layered a love story so beautiful with a neat, tragic twist to a romance. The characters are cautiously crafted and delicately displayed; each one playing his or her part and moving to the sidelines, allowing the next to take centrestage. Such method in direction is seen after a long time on screen.

The premiere show of English Vinglish had got a standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival and the film deserves every bit of it. Gauri Shinde's debut as a director is sure-footed and confident, and Sridevi is back as if she had never been gone.

Sri Devi

The film has a clutch of fine performances. Both Adil Hussain and Mehdi Nebbou, despite their sketchily written roles, are solid. Priya Anand as the niece turns in a noteworthy performance. But it is Sridevi who is obviously the soul of English Vinglish. Her hesitant but heartfelt climactic speech, delivered undemonstratively, is the high point. But it takes two hours too long in coming. Chances are that by then you might cease to really care about her newly acquired spoken English skills.

Story:

Siva thandavam takes off in London on 1st Jan, 2011 with a violent note. A year later, enters Kenny [blind Vikram], a blind man working as a Pianist in a London church in the day and will be on bloody Vendetta mission in nights. Kenny will be traveling using a car driven by Sathyan [Santhanam], a crazy MGR fan and will be supported by a mystery woman Geeta [Lakshmi Rai], who helps Kenny in doing bloody murders in London.

The movie siva thandavam will be juggling between the flashbacks and present, meanwhile Kenny meets up with the glamorous Sarah [Amy Jackson] a beauty queen turned model and circumstances bring them in constant contact with Veerakatthi [Nasser], a police officer in London suspecting Kenny as Raw Officer Sivakumar [Vikram]. Here comes a flash back episode that shows the marriage rituals of Sivakumar and Meenakshi [Anushka], which also involves Sarath [Jagapathi Babu], Sivakumar’s best friend and colleague. As story progresses things take a turn and Siva happens to see Kenny face to face.

What was the reaction of Sivakumar after meeting Kenny? How Kenny is related to Sivakumar? How AL Vijay shaped up the climax of siva thandavam tying all the knots will form the climax of siva thandavam…

Performance:

Chiyaan Vikram is the best in siva thandavam both as Sivakumar and blind man Kenny. Vikram has lived the roles and handled the film siva thandavam on his shoulders with fewer dialogues and more eye expressions.

Anushka has done her role well and especially her entrance scene in rain has got good response from audiences. Amy is just like plastic in her roles.

Santhanam did his best with good timing and one liners like “Google la search pannanu ennna madhiri oru good boy ye kadikkamattan sir” with Nasser is good.

Jagapathi Babu and Lakshmi Rai haven’t given length. Jagapathy Babu was limited to just 2 scenes in first half leaving some clues for the investigation leading to the climax. Lakshmi Rai did a crucial role and lived up to mark in the cameo.

Technical Analysis:

Firstly AL Vijay should be congratulated for his consecutive 5th clean U certificate from the censor board. The Deiva Thirumagal director has utmost tried to utilize all the characters in the movie with an engaging script that lacks with slow paced screenplay.

Music and background scores composed by GV Prakash Kumar are one of the highlights of the movie, siva thandavam especially the tracks Oru Paadhi Kadhavu, Yaaradi Mohini, Uyirin Uyire are topping the charts. Art formations in the Uyirin Uyire song need special mention and the cinematography by Nirav shah is as usual.

Action sequences by Manohar Verma are good especially fights done by blind Vikram when he is attacked by six foreigners in a London park is awesome. Editing works by Anthony could have brought better results for the movie, as there is slow rapidity.

Analysis:

Siva Thandavam first half is just utilized to plot the characters for some intervening parts of second half. May be the second half is better engaging than the first, but has some interesting scene.

Mainly investing scenes with Jagapathi Babu, comic sequences with Santhanam and Tappachi mama, mappillai et al family introducing scene went well with audiences, while rest of the film is slow and steady as per the script.

Shirtless Vikram with 6pack body is awesome in the fight for Heroine and was shown well, while there are also scenes that miss the general logic, especially when Vikram escapes from cops chasing him on bikes and cars by traveling a cycle.

Final Verdict:

Barring few ups and downs with the pace of the movie, siva thandavam makes a descent watch.
