The trailer of superstar Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan" may not be released at the ongoing Cannes FilmFestival, according to latest reports.
Earlier, it was reported that the trailer of the much-anticipated Rajini film would be launched at the festival. However, it appears that the launch has been shelved as there has been no official confirmation on the release or the superstar's presence at Cannes.
"Kochadaiyaan's crew has rescheduled the release of the trailer and the video might get released soon. "We were initially planning to go there, but we wanted to ensure that the trailer was cut well and in the best format. That was taking time. So, we have rescheduled it and will be releasing the trailer soon," the film's producer Murali Manohar told The Times of India.

"Hey guys ..Trailer shaping out well. Working on more surprises...All efforts are going in to release it asap .Will keep u posted !!" Soundarya tweeted.
The Cannes Film Festival, which kicked off on 15 May, runs through 26 May. Several Indian films are being screened at the 11-day film carnival. Prominent Indian film celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Vidya Balan have made their appearance at the festival.
Rajinikanth was also expected to make his first appearance at Cannes. With reports emerging that the actor would not attend the event , it would be a big disappointment for his fans, who were eagerly waiting to see their screen idol at the filmfestival.
The actor is making a comeback of sorts in the Tamil film industry after taking a two-year hiatus. He was last seen in Shankar's 2010 blockbuster "Endhiran" ("Robot"). "Kochadaiyaan" is claimed to be the first Indian film to use state-of-art motion capturing techniques in 3D.
The film's crew is currently busy with post-production work. Buzz is that the film's audio launch or the premiere might be held in Japan, as the actor has a huge fan following in the country. "Kochadaiyaan" will have Rajini playing a dual role - as a father and a son. Actress Deepika Padukone plays the female lead.
Oscar winner A R Rahman set the scores for "Kochadaiyaan". The film is expected to get released in July.
